Valve springs for GTI-R head
Hi guys,

need help selecting the right valve springs for my gti-r. I will run 280° 12,5mm lift JUN cams, but JUN valve springs are only good for 12mm max lift, so I am looking for alternatives.
So far I have found

BC springs. Apparently made by PAC and well priced. They list them as VE springs too... so a bit doubious...but well priced 90lb seat

Kelford cams valve springs, also made by PAC, 85 lb seat but very expensive, almost double the price of the BC

Supertech GTI-R springs, "only" 75lb seat pressure.

What would you suggest? What's the best choice?

Please help!

thanks

David

I would convert to DE valves, lose dual valve springs, get new exhaust guides, machine the valve seats, and use BC springs and retainers, but I am just a wannabe.

or

If you just want new valve springs for those cams, BC.

Too much work...just want good valve springs for my cams...
Why supertech lists different springs for the VE and gtir and the BC fits both?

Because they have different overall lengths.

So how can BC springs can work on the gtir and ve head without machining?

Good question, sounds like you should e-mail BC about that. Maybe they don't mind the 1-1.5mm in extra height? Not a lot of folks play with GTi-R engines anymore.

I have a GTi-R engine and I noticed the difference in the valve stem height and went looking for springs. Supertech is a good name but they are pricier.

Yet Supertech offers two versions, once for each cylinder head, yes?

And I know the heights are different so ask them how that works out.
