The only reason I didn't hook it back into intake is I didn't want to be sucking in unmetered air from the filter on top of catcan. I know I could prob ditch the filter, but I was spraying oil from other setup with no filter and honestly I think I want as much blow-by release as possible and I think that big line and filter will take care of that. Being a sealed catcan, I think didn't help situation.

I will keep the oil separator and stock line going to it, just running other tee'd line to catcan like pics show and ditching the part that goes back to intake. Unless I have some more spraying it should be good I think. I will let you guys know how it goes, haven't really drove car much since first test, waiting on the new pcv from Nissan. Then I will give her hell and see.

Any update on this? I have the same problem with the dipstick popping out and splattering oil. I swapped out the valve cover and installed one from a VE thinking it would fix it, but its pretty much the same.

I am now looking into adding the DE oil separator + and a catch can.

Just curious as to what finally worked for you.

Sounds like your boosting the crank case..

I have a boosted 've, no special catch can, routed like Nissan did it an i have no issues, same with my buddy.

Sorry I should have specified, I installed a VE Valve cover, not a VE motor. Still running on the old DE, with a VE valve cover and supporting mods.

My setup is the exact same as pictured above minus the tube on intake right after filter. I plugged both ends of that connection and left as that. Have never had a blow-by problem since. I have a stock de vc as well, not a ve one.

Hope that helps.

That does help thank you.
If you were to do it again, would you have done anything different? Bigger catch can, or different type?

I am thinking of getting a bigger catch can and trying to fit as big of breather/filter as I can up top.

PCV ---> catch can
VC Breather ----> catch can
Big ASS breather on top of catch can.

Did you notice any change in AFR's with the breather open to the atmosphere?

I am not sure size matters on the can itself. A bigger can will hold more oil blow-by, equals less empting it.

But I am happy with it. If I were to do it again I would have just got nicer fittings I guess.

I do not have a wide band, so no I have not noticed any different afr's.

I was thinking the bigger the can (when empty) the more volume for air to fill, resulting in less pressure out of the filter/breather? I'm a bit concerned with the smaller cans acting like a simple filter at the end of a long hose under boost. I know a local guy here with a DSM that has a small catch can and after a couple of runs his filter/breather is soaked in oil and splattering everywhere.

Maybe I should fix the problem and not try to put a band aid.

Does the catch can really stop the motor from eating/losing oil?
