Turboing High Mileage Motor
I know this might have been covered many times. Or there might not be an actual answer cause lots come to play to answer this Q.

I have 190k on the dot. Stock block, tranny and err thang. Car runs strong, I take it on 200mile cruises every wknd. Compression is 150 - 160 on all cylinders.

.... Should I turbo? Anyone have experience with adding a turbo to their high mileage motors. Shooting for 280whp... Maybe i shoulda thought it more thru before I bought everything haha.

This is my daily and I can't afford to f up anything anytime soon, thanks!

We see that you have done a compression test, how about a leak down test? Usually if you have less that 10% leakage in each cylinder it should be safe to boost.

150-160psi is low for a stock de. was is a warm or cold test. was the throttle all the way open. I would do a leak down test. On my first boosted b13 I had the same question. I decided to pick up a low mileage jdm de and boost it.

Yeah, doesn't sound like you did the compression test right. Do a dynamic, static and leak down. Doing it like this will tell you the condition of the rings and the valves.
