Air/vacuum sensor directly below the throttle body???
EDIT: see pic below

This is on my B13 but my Avenir block, so I posted here in the turbo section. I'm fabbing a nipple to my IC pipe before the throttle plate for the IACV breather which it'd seem I've had blocked all these years. I'm hoping this corrects my "no idle with a cold motor" issue. She refuses to idle cold but idles almost perfectly once warm. See link in my SIG.

MY QUESTION: right below the TB I see a censor mounted to the block, unplugged. The pigtail is resting right next to it and plugs right in. This censor has 2 small nipples which would appear to be suited for vacuum line. What is this censor and where does the air source come from? Theres a nipple on the top and bottom.

Thanks

Shoot. I just thought maybe this should have been posted to the technical section. I dunno if the censor is turbo related/specific or not.

Sounds like an EGR solenoid, can you post a pic of it?

I don't have EGR or charcoal canister. I'll post a pic later, I just woke up. @lynchfourtwenty I know right?! Imagine one of these things solves my idle issue??! You and I spent some time on the phone discussing tune options...I'll do cartwheels across my lawn!

That plug looks like the cold idle regulator plug. It feeds the iacv and helps it idle when cold. Can you get a pick of the actual solenoid?

Are you kidding me!?! Lol!!! My car hasn't idled cold for 5 years since I swapped. Thats the best picture I can get short of crawling underneath.....even then I don't know I can get a great picture. Where would the air/vacuum signal come from?
@Vadim, you've been helping me in another thread, maybe you can help shed some light here?
@BenFenner helped me attempt to diagnose my cold idle all last year. Maybe you know things?

Thanks guys!

First off, I think you've found the source of your cold idle issues. Having the IACV blocked off would certainly mess with your cold idle.

As for that plug, it is either an EGR solenoid, or evap system solenoid, or possibly the IACV valve itself. As others have pointed out. If it have two vacuum ports (small) then it is for EGR or some other emissions system you likely don't have anymore.

Here's link to the other thread Ben. I'm linking just in case future searchers find this thread and not the other ;-)
I figure after all the help you offered last year you're more than entitled to be updated. Lol!
