Walbro's and FPRs
Hi

So it's either

-Walbro 190lph + 3 bar program + stock fpr + 444ccs and bored maf

or

-Walbro 255lph + 4 bar program + afpr + 370cc's and bored maf

1- Will the 190lph suffice my power needs, plus more? I hear they can hold 350whp or 400 to the crank.

2- Will I need to run an afpr with the walbro 190?

3- Say I decide to get the 255lph instead, where could I find a cheap afpr? I dont' want to cough up $300 for a nismo one :nightmare:

My power goals are 250whp low boost - 280whp @ 12psi

How about Walbro HP 255lph + 3 bar program + stock fpr + 444cc injectors + bored MAF?

Or substitute the 444cc for 520cc Subaru injectors?

Adjustable FPRs are the devil. If you're going to run 4-bar base fuel pressure, then get a 4-bar FPR. Not an adjustable one.

Cool.

I've always thought running 255 will make me run rich, hence fpr.

Yeah 444 or Sti, whichever cheaper comes first.

I chose the 190 cause it's not "overkill" and heard stock fpr would be ok

With a combination of the stock FPR (who's job is to regulate your fuel pressure!) and the closed loop control of the factory style ECU fueling you won't see any real fueling difference. Even without the closed loop control, the difference is very minimal, and only around idle.

I have no idea what is overkill for you, since you've not explained any power goals. Personally I think if you're doing the work, it is worth it to just go with the larger pump if you're turbo.
