Not quite. It's dependent on the amount of boost you're running. Fuel pressure has to go up 1:1 as boost increases. So if your source all of a sudden comes off and the motor is seeing more a pressure difference, you'll be lean.

of course putting the gate line closer to the TB adjusts the gate with what the motor is getting...but isn't that what a boost controller is for? Why not put the boost gauge on the intake manifold and the wastegate at the compressor housing and adjust the boost to what you want the manifold to see?

boost signal will be a whole lot weaker at the TB than it is at the turbo...but i don't see how that really matters.

I meant more accurate. I've noticed about a 2 psi difference from getting the vacuum source at the piping right off the outlet vs right before the TB. This is on a Tial 40mm wastegate as well.

actually, when you reference boost the 'amount' that is reading on your gauge is not what is going into the engine but a measurement of excess air that is in the piping and manifold, so to think the most 'accurate' and best place to get your reference from for the gate would be directly from the compressor housing of the turbo, then a short line directly to the gate

and i dont have to worry about my lines popping off, i use either an lines or the presto-lok lines

You hit it right on the head...boost gauge off the intake manifold & wastegate right off the compressor - that's the best way.

It matters because the wastegate reacts slower with the weaker signal downstream. In the grand scheme of things, with larger turbo setups, it is negligible. It makes a larger difference on smaller setups.

Bingo. This is why I've noticed much better results when building smaller setups. On larger setups such as SC61 etc I've always gotten my reference directly from the the comp housing.

Well, I think the OP has enough information to do what he needs to do

I have a electronic boost controller ill be installing but not yet, currently i want to get the car running well before i go ahead putting more parts on,
