That is not the reason why I suggest he runs the obd1 dizzy. Pickup is different between the two although they are built very similar, car will run but not as it should with the obd2 dizzy. Its been tried down here with the stepdown harness, cars with the obd2 dizzy were slow as shit. Swapped over to an obd1 dizzy and they woke right up.

Oh, I'm listening.

Here's an update:

I pick up the car today. I'm going to have the RR on the stand either this evening or tomorrow morning and flip that puppy over to see exactly what happened. All in all, I don't see myself being able to drive the car for very much longer this year (the winters here tend to vary, so I could be wrong), so if I can just fix the RR for now, I will do that and take my time building up my DET/VE/Whatever else to drop into it after the winter weather backs off a bit.

I'm REALLY wanting to put a VE head on my DET block, so I don't want to put it into the car right now. Fixing seems to be the way to go for now so I can have a running car AND a project engine for the winter. I'm crossing my fingers that he didn't ruin the cylinder walls....

Just keep in mind that pulling the head extra times can get expensive. You need to replace the HG and bolts (stretch to fit) every time. Now you can get ARP studs and then you can reuse them.

Yep, been researching prices on all of this, that's why I'm more inclined to just fix the RR for now and build up the DET/VE+T exactly how I want it the first time. I'm not too worried if I blow a gasket or something on the motor that's in there because it's a temporary hold over for now anyway. I'll keep the boost low for now (or not).

sr head bolts are reusable more than once, only once they pass a threshold are they no longer usable
