VE+T Advice
Firstly, apologies for a new thread. I tried bumping an old thread of mine but it was too old.

Ok so here goes, i've built a SR20VE+T set up for a P11 Primera.

Now what i'm after is instant responce, low boost (1 bar) and a smooth curve holding power all the way top 8200rpm. Power wise i would be happy at 280-300bhp at the fly.

All i'm left to do is commit to buy a turbo. I am persuaded by the GT2860RS on a .86

My set-up so far is as follows

SR16VE head with 20VE cams
Stock DE 10:1 bottom end
Thick 2mm gasket
GTIR Stainless tubilar manifold T25/8 (ebay jobbie)
370 200sx turbo purple side feed injectors
255 walbro pump
SARD fuel reg @ 4bar
63mm intercooler pipework
Greddy MSS
Nistune ECU

Are we happy that this is the best set-up for what i'm after? I only ask because there is a lot of talk about T2/3 manifolds and much larger turbos.

Thanks in advance.

I would use the gt2871r or either of the t2 based gt30r turbos. The gt30r turbos use a higher flowing exhaust wheel. iirc I made 325whp @ 10psi with the t2 3071r. if your wanting to make over 500whp go with a t3.

With a VE head at 1 bar boost...you'll out flow those injectors. My suggestion is to upgrade your injectors. As far as the turbo goes, I'd recommend the GT3071R. It is more than enough for your goals, and should you want more power down the road (you will), you'll have the injectors & the turbo to do so.

Sounds good.

Is the Disco too restrictive for 300hp? I am honestly not sure i really will want more power on a fwd car. It's not like the US here, no straight roads for me. The car has to remain very usable.

Not restrictive at all. Actually, it is beginning to breathe at that level. You can't go wrong with the disco or the 3071R for what you want. But I highly suggest upgrading your injectors. 300 bhp is approximately 350-360 whp. 370cc injectors die out around 290 whp at 4 bar.

Cheers for the help. It's a shame bigger injectors than 370's are so expensive over here but you're right, i need them.
