Perhaps my dyno just reads a bit lower. I try to use corrected numbers to get closer to the guys at sea level, but even then can't quite make it. Car traps 128mph. So its def making the power.

the 2871r is a amazingly good turbo. imo you need to at least run 1 bar for the 2871r for the 71r to come alive.

Moved the thread into the appropriate section....

3076R is a garbage turbo. 3071R is hands down the best turbo in the GT line-up

I couldn't agree more. Even the GT35r is mismatched imho. The 3071r is the best matched turbo in the setup. 100%

Plus, who needs more than 400whp... oh.. yea...

I just replaced a T28 GTiR for Precision gt2871rlb and the lag its almost the same.
I was expecting at 12lbs at least 3000rpm but nahh its start going around the same time.
granted its a bit more responsice down low but nothing crazy.
A lot of people in zilvia.net reaching 350whp on a .64 exhaust housing, plus the spool time its quicker.

if your buying new get a GTX2867R with a .82 housing. the GTX turbos are so much more efficient then the standard GT. we made 493whp on that turbo with a 2.1l with 270 tomei cams at 26psi. the response is amazing and theres usable power upto 8500rpms. im currently doing a ve-t for a customer and will be using that turbo.

I'm guessing that power was made on a DE/DET? That's a lot of boost for such little power, relatively speaking.

Ya he's got a s13 with that turbo.

I thought almost 500 hp on a t2 series turbo was pretty good. I'd like to see what it could do on a ve

T2 turbos are ok on a VE. I think VEs are better suited with T3 turbos.
