Piston rings
I'm changing my piston rings and I don't know which to buy. The oem or the cp rings? Are they made out of the same material?

I would imagine OEM would be ideal.

I can tell you they are same material from my experience. However, the piston ring thickness may be slightly different.

cp recommends only to use their piston rings with their forged 86mm pistons so I guess that makes my decision easy. OEM rings it is.

De-DET use a thicker ring.
RR-ve use the thinner rings like the aftermarket pistons.

I know the cp ve pistons use a thinner compression ring than the stock ve pistons, so it might be the same on the de pistons
