I think my t25 is trashed
I left a rag in the intake and ran the car. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't rev over 3k rpm until I remembered I left it in there. Pulled the rag out completely intact, no pieces missing. Ran the car again after I pulled it out and noticed I was blowing oil out of the BOV. Pulled all the intercooler piping apart and cleaned everything out. MAF was dripping with oil so I cleaned it with 'CRC MAF cleaner'. No more oil and no more rags in there now, but the car feels a lot slower than it did before. Doesn't make any weird noises coming from the turbo, not smoking, not blowing oil, no boost leaks. I'm stumped, guys. Could I have ruined the MAF? Seems like it runs too smooth for the MAF to be fubar'd. Maybe the turbo is trashed?

I would start by pressure testing the system. If you have a spare maf, swap it in and see if it helps. Does the turbo spin freely?

I pressure tested the charge piping already and found absolutely no leaks. I actually did it with a Smoke Pro EVAP tester. Not a single leak. I don't have a spare MAF, but my buddy might let me borrow his for diagnostic purposes. And from what I can tell the turbo is ok. I haven't spun the turbo by hand, though.

I'm so pissed cause I just dropped $3k into the motor. Getting ready to put a 6062 on it, just breaking the motor in with the t25. Now this happens and makes me think I completely screwed something up. What do I test first? Where do I start?

MAF may have taken a shit man. Get the other one on there. You need to try and rule out all the dumb shit before jumping to conclusions. Compression test the motor is you are worried its something internal.

I'm so bummed. You have no idea. This car makes me want to rip my hair out and hang myself out the window.

I don't think its anything internal because mechanically the motor runs well. How could the rag cause damage internally if it never sucked it through the turbo? MAF or turbo makes the most sense, but it runs good...just slow.

You're right though, I need to get facts and stop guessing.

I highly doubt its something internal. My guess would be the MAF. I can't stand how sensitive they are. My brothers car needed to be retuned so many times due to stupid little things like this. I always start with the basics like leaks, grounds, wiring, etc.
