Shell URT Advanced Unleaded Race fuel, better than C16?
i guess i should share this with the forum unless you guys already know, shell has a gasoline called shell URT advanced, its an unleaded fuel that supposedly resists detonation as good as, if not better than c16, it has no oxygen in it, its pure fuel

http://www.bobjohnsonlubes.com/images/E0270901/Shell_Racing_Fuel_URT_Advanced.pdf

this fuel is mostly used in the srt8 and ford mustang world and they have run back to back tests with this vs vp c16 and they claim you can run more boost and timing on this fuel. once my car is back up and running i will be using this fuel because i am not a fan of leaded fuel it works but i cant afford to constantly replace wideband sensors ect and i dont like the inconsistency with e85 at the pump up here in ny

any one familiar with this or have any insight

I don't understand why that guy was so amazed a 4.6 made over 1k whp when rb and 2jz engines can make that without breaking a sweat. And those are between 2.6-3.0 liter engines. But that fuel is def interesting to learn more about it. I wonder how readily available it is?

i can get it in my area after some researching, so im sure, when i try to find it online it seems they are only selling to dealers, plus i hate buying fuel on line because i have to pay hazmat

Yeah thats what I was looking at on their website its an extra almost 30 bucks for the hazmat charge. How did you find out where its available at? Would like to see if they have near me also, would like to experiment with this and a couple new timing maps I have developed.

Im using the sunoco Max 116. I used to use the unleaded 100 octane for high boost and never had any issues, but I figured the C16 would be better overall for safety. the leaded stuff kinda sucks because it leaves blue residue on the bumper. doesn't sound like much, but people are always asking me if my engine is blown because of it. Stupid lead.

I've used a bit of VP and Red X as well, but this sunoco stuff is local. 4 gallons was about $60 though. Ouch. 100 octane is available at the pump for about $8/gal.

i was very interested in the sunoco fuel before i came across this stuff, but if its comparable to c16 and has a lot of knock resistant properties i am all for it

heres another video of a comparison
