Hi Guys, have a connecting rod question
Hi All,

Just disassembling a GTI-R engine and have new rods to put in. Now I see that the original rods have an oil hole on the top end of the bearing portion but the forged rods do not. I also notice that other rod manufacturers do not have this oil hole in it either. Any thoughts? Should I still use the new rods?

Thanks in advance.

I would say if you checked with other manufactures and they all do not have hat hole then yes it is ok to run them.

Hi, I bought a set of Brian Crower as they had an off the shelf connecting rod for the GTI-R. The bearings fit well too, but I was just wondering about the hole in the original ones. BC said it was ok to use.
