Look at it as an excuse to do a little headwork. Just massage the bowls slightly and get a good valve cut done. It wont break the bank just basic work and should net a nice little improvement.

Good to hear pistons are good

Got the new head gasket. I have a few days off next week. I'll take the head in and have a full inspection done, and perhaps cut the valves and seats a bit. Hopefully valve lash stays good. I do have some extra shims, but I don't wanna have to deal with the extra work to be honest.

Got the head gasket yesterday. Took the head to get checked out. All is good. Perfect hold on all cylinders. So I'll be putting the head back on when I get the chance. My next day off is Monday. I should be able to get the car running that day. Perhaps drive it to work tuesday...

I am going to try to put the stock front mount on, this solid dogbone makes the interior rattle a bit with such low rpm. Hopefully the car is still composed with a windo-welded stock mount. My prothane mount melted from the manifold before I wrapped it.

Nice, not good to see a fellow car off the road for too long. I like that on P11's I can use a full sized motor mount up front. No need for a solid mount that will rattle everything loose.

I got the head on today. Only had a couple hours to work on it. I spent most of the time thinking. I got the head on by myself, which anyone who's done it before can attest... is a whore. But it went pretty smoothly.

I didn't mark the cams with the timing chain when i took it all apart, so I don't know if I timed it right. I just put the #1 piston at TDC and slapped the head on. Then I put the cams down in the head and took the slack side of the chain, pulled tight, and wrapped it up with the properly aligned exhaust cam.

Once the exhaust cam seemed lined up, I counted 20 rollers over and put the mark for the intake cam there. Put in the tensioner. Seems good. I guess I won't know until I start it eh? I can hear compression when cranking the engine by hand... so that's good.

I stopped at the intake manifold. I have to go get a throttle body screw at the store, and my wife wants to spend time with me... so it's quits for now.

I'll get the intake manifold put back on, then work on getting the turbo on. Once that is done, the car should fire up. I am going to run a motor flush though the motor for a few minutes and then change the oil out.

The sentra is back together... sort of. Put the valve cover and intake manifold back on today. Hard to find the time to fix it.

I just need a few touch up things done, hook up IC pipe, fill the oil and antifreeze. Should be good to go!

I'm gonna baby her for the first 500 miles I put on her. Just to check things out. Then I'll change the oil and let her rip. Get her all cleaned up, then I will debate on some new things I wanna do. I'd like to change the front bumper to the 1997 version and have the car painted... clean her up a bit more eh.

Did you get a chance to check the possible voltage issues that I spoke to you about?

Wow, you really dodged a bullet there. Nice numbers also! It's nice coming back to the forum after being away for 6 months or so to see things like this. When I throw on my custom IM and q45 tb, you can have my bored de tb that's on the car now if you want it so you wont have to worry about the screws working themselves out again.
