calculating Bearing Grade
Okay I have reached that point to order my bearings, going with some graded oem stuff that I saw on P2M. So I have a bunch of things found from other posts,

Crank figures - 22111
2111

Now on the block I see two sets of numbers - along the cylinders I see from the waterpump side to the gearbox side - 2122 and then in the corner close to the gearbox I see etched F 12212

So here we go for main bearings,

22111 on the crank +
12212 on the block

First question, this reading goes from which side to which side from the pulley side of the crank to the back or the other way around? Next thing I have read is that the rod bearings are simply what is on the side of the rod and then I have read that it is the second row of numbers on the crank, in my case 2111. But my question is then what are the numbers running along the bottom of the block cylinders for, do you have to add those numbers with the numbers on the crank? Meaning,

2111 on the crank +
2122 on the block

Let me know and also how do you read these numbers for the rods from cylinder one to four or four to one?

Hope I am clear enough.

you add the numbers on the crank with the numbers in the corner of the block by the gearbox. That is for your mains, The rods you use the grade number on the rod plus the grade number on the crank, in my case on my old block my rods were all grade 0, my crank numbers were 1222 which means my number 1 i needed grade 1 and the rest are grade 2 for the rod bearings. The block and crank is what you need to add together and thats it. nothing else needed.
