6 speed swap beware!
Now that I have your attention, I just want you guys to know if you have the Mazworx axle bracket there is something you need to do before putting the car together...
Take the allen-head screws out of the axle bracket and use red loctite on them. I had an axle seal leak on the passenger side, and when going to change it I found all of the screws holding the 2-halves of the bracket were completely loose. This caused the axle to bang around in the loose axle bracket.
I thought the squashed motor mount was causing too much engine movement, thus the banging noise. After working on the car today I found the axle bracket issue. If it had gotten worse, it could have cracked the transmission case, and I would hate to think of the worst-case scenario.
Note to guys at Mazworx, please loctite those screws in place.
Anyway, I decided to replace another blown up oil sending unit. Then I replaced the ball joints. And fender liners are installed now. Car drives awesome, but the 225 width tires rub at full lock. I may step down to a 215 to keep the rubbing to a minimum.
