+5 intake will touch valves onthe intake side. N1 cams do not help.
A boosted setup will see neither of those things. So why would 2.0 cams set at 0 touch.

I just try to clear up misinformation, like the same one that probably had your friends car put the n1 at +5-5. Not an ideal setting by any means. It's just what was posted and everyone followed.

Yep, I have heard of many people running sr16's straight up and n1's straight up on a de/ve hybrid setup without contact. And yes the contact was only on the intake side and had the cams been straight up there would have been no contact, guranteed as it was that light of contact.

So who knows. The thing you have to worry about on stock 2.0 cams on stock springs and retainers is float. Simple as that which will happen before 8k.

SR16's and N1's are both very smooth ramping cams compared to the stock ve cams

Very true, which is why back when i did that setup back in 07 that i put them to that setting. When he actually got a ve motor I started out with them at those settings and moved them back to 0,0 and they made much better power and much better top end.

Ask how I know they nick the piston on the intake side when you advance them. I have torn apart my personal motors many times to see what happens and what went wrong, so I don't do it with other cars.
