Seen too many disasters using a cometic with the old arp headstuds. Its not all the gaskets fault but i will say with a better gasket the issues wouldnt have happened. Its just a bad combo.

Lets see a cometic is about 90-100 bucks a VET oem gasket is about 80 and is by far superior to the cometic in every way. Better sealing around the coolant and oil channels and a much better firing ring around the cylinders. Same goes with the Cosworth gasket, by far a superior gasket to the cometic.

Seen several times threads pulled from blocks using the ARP studs.

Mine is matched up with a set of AEBS studs. No worries here. Old design ARP's would have streched and caused problems regardless the HG.

Yeah like I said one could have prevented the other. Id still rather use a vet gasket or Cosworth over a cometic. Even just having them side by side you can tell the quality and strength difference.

I guess I will test my luck... If it goes then a bored OEM VET gasket will be the route I take.

I wish Cosworth would just do a VE headgasket lol. Cant beat the price and quality of their gaskets.

This coming from a guy who beats his car to death backs up my statement with the Cometic.

I have several and mean several friends with high whp cars and they all run Cometic gaskets

I also agree with rob I used the cometic with arps and that motor is still holding strong with a ve head just slapped on it the other week.

to the OP just boost a stock de built motors are overrated and the stock motor can meet your goals very very easily

The motor is all apart now. I wanted to use quality parts just incase I go bigger or something. I'm looking into the sc61. Trying to seal the deal as we speak. And also during a part out I'll be able to recoup something back. Not much but something and I don't have to worry about disaster with quality. And yes it is a t3. Now is the vet HG 87mm? if so I'm down. And for the arp studs I will look into the mazworx. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the inputs so far

Well I did a big boo boo today. All my caps for the head got all mixed up because a tech put them all in a box. How would I go about matching them up again and also the shims got all mixed up also

ugh I hate it when other people aren't careful with my engine parts. That must suck. Well, rod caps, crank journal caps or camshaft journal caps?
