hey, i was wondering if you can use an autox trick and increase droop on the front to gain traction? essentially rebound on the fronts super soft on struts with as much travel as you can find.

You mean soft front and hard rear suspension? Ya, that's a common strategy. If you look at FWD drag cars, the car hardly transfers any weight to the back. The downside is that it messes up driveability for the street.

Ppl who say 350+ isn't driveable are the same that mash & go versus actually driving the car. Or use the easy way, boost per mph

All of which are methods for getting around the wrong platform for that much HP.

Besides, no matter what you do -- the full power of the car isn't getting down to the ground..whereas in an AWD or RWD setup it'd be different. That's the whole point.

I'm not arguing you can't get SOME of the power down, I'm arguing you can't get it ALL(through much of 1st-3rd, sometimes 4th) and thus why it's an inefficient platform for that much HP on the street.

And I understand it for what it is and try to strategize around it..but it does suck and keeps me from building the car up more than where it is currently.

The car is still fun to drive, but I know the limitations of the platform and am not shy or a fanboy about letting others know the truth.

Look, SE-Rawkus is a big boy. He knows what he's getting into. Did he not say he's had large frame and small frame turbos on these cars? He's looking for something in the middle. Let's help with that.

We'll agree to disagree. This is a subjective matter. My opinion is reflective of the perspective through which I view as reality.

718r .86 ran one on my det for a bit. blisteringly fast, 22xx pound car, p11 tranny, det s4s, 400whp @18psi reving to 8k. shredded tires. so useless that it made me go back to all motor. anything below a 4th gear role was pointless.

but if you wanna have crazy spool with a superbly strong top end with no hint of dieing go with it. i slayed alot of cars, z06s new 5.0 stangs on slicks, single turbo 96 supras etc etc. ok now i sound like ashton. but seriously, its a great turbo if your looking for something in the middle.

stratton.
