i have seen many hondas used the SS brand turbo manifolds ,with that company i wouldnt put .02 cents into anything they make. but that is just what i have seen with hondas....rather if their quality has changed much or not is up in the air.....but you know they say you have to pay to play, and anything chap isnt going to be good and anything good isnt going to be cheap

my friend has a chinaman turbo tubi header with stock location point. the thing cracked. in three different places. when he had the first crack welded, it cracked again somewhere else. and the final straw was when it cracked right in the middle of the 4-1 collector. you get what you pay for. i doubt ssac will warranty the part if it cracks.

i know i know. im not poor/cheap, i just want to try something for my own knowledge. again, its cheap, its not putting me out any, im just still sitting waiting for stuff ive already paid for (as ****ing always) track season is open, and i want this damn nx boosted, its just not the same when all your other cars have been. ANYWAYS, its not ALWAYS crap....like i said, my buddy scotts had a 400 hp 7m with ss autocrap manifold, and now a nearly 600 hp(probably more at this point) on his 2jz currently. he loves it. swears by it. ive been shocked. although, the additional 2 exaust runners might be making a diffrence in distibuting weight, but still, its a ginormous turbo, and its still holding up good after 8/9 months. just seeing what people think/have experianced. keep the opinions flowing, i apreciate the input, and by the way, NOT obx, ss autochrome. ive heard the obx is whats cracking all the time. we have 2 at our shop, but ive seen nothing on the ss autochrome. anyways, nuff of me blabbing.

allthough, i DO have access to a welder, and i COULD just order a sr20 flange, and some pipe, and just weld up a log manifold. might just do that.

^ log manifold are very efficent for a street car, i would say a decently made log manifold can perform or out perform the ss manifold

I was going to buy one... but the consensus is that you can make up to 400whp on the stock avenir/pulsar manifold. Since the SR20det manifold is t2 flanged, that really limits you turbo's that put out around that much power.

Theoretically it should smooth out flow, especially if you port match everything properly... The only other real benefits i saw is its shiny, and its cheap... The drawbacks are it has thinner walls and is subject to cracking, which can be easily solved with bracing the turbo inlet flange to the head flange. It will be a little more hot in your bay (which isn't a big deal with me, especially if you wrap it). Some said that some of the holes on the exhaust flange don't line up the way they would like... some tested before and after and lost like 4whp peak hp (which doesn't mean anything). But others praise it.

I chose to rock a pulsar manifold and just get the exhaust manifold ported a little bit... but if you don't have one I say go for it. If you plan on staying with a t2 size you can rock it... Like I said, they also sell a t3 flanged tubular header that is a top mount I believe... but I don't think anyone has bought it and tried it that's taken the time to report about it. I honestly was about to buy it but couldn't justify selling my my stock one.

I don't see anything wrong with trying it out... It's obviously not the crafstmanship of an 800 dollar tubular manifold, but it doesn't cost that much either... worst comes to worse you can sell it.

this what you're talking about tokes??

if you have a manifold already why not have a t3 flange welded on ?

i am currently using one. It has worked fine. I have even modified it to fit a different turbo and external waste gate. I have had no problems. If your going to get the same one i have, fitting the turbo is a little tricky. I had to move my radiator foward a lot. I also had to turn the turbo the other way, so now my downpipe makes a big u nearly missing the motor mount.

I am using the SS manifold on a lot of cars that come in. However we are using them for the GTE block (toyota) however same company, same materials. They have held everything up to a PT74/76/GT42R with no problems and no cracking. We have logged boost up to 36psi and up to 12,000 miles on them. So far...good to go.

Now the first batch had a cracking problem, but that was about a year and a half ago. Since then I think its safe to say they have stepped their game up. Plus a lot of well known shops are also using their manifolds as well so that speaks a lot.
