turbo oil drain fitting sizes
this is probably a stupid question but, i borrowed benitos drill bit an tap, the drill bit is a 9/16 and the tap is a 3/8 npt 18 and i looked online and those are the 2 to use together, heres the link i found that info.

NPT Tap Drill Sizes - Engineer's Handbook

but it does not match the fitting i have which needs a 45/64 drill bit and a 1/2 npt 14.

i can get a new fitting to match the drill bit an tap i have but i want to be sure that it wont be to small an restrict the oil return. an if it does restrict the oil return i can just rent blair's bit an tap an use the fitting i have, either way will cost about the same.

*The part number for the pipe plug which btw is 1/2" -14NPT is 704-1876 (NAPA)

i guess my question is kind of vague, what i need to know is will a 9/16" hole be enough for the oil return.. i think most people use a 45/64" hole which is just shy of 3/4"

I say why not just do it the way it was originally designed and fork out the dough and get the 45/64" and not have to worry about it, 9/16" is pretty wimpy...
