Turbo with oil cooler oil pump question
Okay for my avenir swap I will be running a Gti-r T28 and a setrab oil cooler.

The avenir obviously comes with a de/t oil pump/ with this provide enough pressure with the oil cooler installed? Is the VE pump necessary? I have access to one but everything is already put together and I would need a different crank pulley and the spacer. I don't want to wreck and engine but I also don't want to do hours of work and spend hundreds of extra dollars if it is not necessary.

PS I also have a windage tray and crank scraper installed if that makes a diff.

I know there is a post with the various psi of the different pumps but i search skills are sucking today.

Thanks

Do you plan on tracking the car? The DET motor has a built in oil cooler to start with, and though it may not be the best for all-out racing, it is sufficient for daily use with occasional track days.

I would definitely do the VVL oil pump with an oil cooler. I know the S13 and S14 guys do it all the time but alot of them end up having bearing issues as well. While you might be good for a while if you want your build to last I would definitely switch and run the VVL pump. Its good insurance and in all reality it doesnt take that long to do, doesnt require the removal of the head or anything major. Just the pans and pulley.

I do plan on tracking the car. The VVL pump will cost about $300 to do plus the time but i really want to do it right I just hate that i will have two UR crank pulleys i don't need if I do. That is admittedly a stupid reason not to though.
