AEBS Headstud Torque Specs?
Just saw Mark's thread which reminded me to start my own. I contacted AEBS and the owner of the shop was not in. Just wondering if anyone here new th specs.

Id imagine its probably close to or similar to the GE studs with a final torque around 75 ft-lbs but there are steps. Every company has slightly different torque values and procedures. I like the GE steps as they definitely ensure the gasket is fully crushed to get a proper ending torque value. I wonder how many people still have the AEBS studs though.

Interesting:

As i was google searching for the torque specs i noticed that AEBS has SR20 headstuds still listed on their sites. I thought they were discontinued? Is that the case?

I found the specs

Torque the studs into the block to 8-10 ft-lbs

Tighten nuts to 30 ft-lbs and then to 64 ft-lbs.

If your using a metal headgasket which im pretty sure you are, its best to do a couple torque then loosen procedures to ensure the gasket is fully compressed and that way you get an accurate final torque.

This is why i like the GE studs,

So for the AEBS you could do something like this

Tighten all to 30 ft-lbs, loosen all, tighten to 30 ft-lbs, loosen all, tighten to 30 ft-lbs, then torque to final torque of 64 ft-lbs. I would do at least 3 tightens to 30 ft-lbs again to ensure the gasket is fully compressed. You will never have to worry about them ever again.
