N62 maf on blow through
This maybe a dumb question, but I'm a bit concerned with avoiding boost leaks running my n62 blow-through set up. What have you guys done? Mount the element in a straight pipe? or will an air filter adapter plate seal up on the stock housing? Or just go with draw through?

air filter adapter works fine use rtv to seal it. If you want to be ghetto cut the flange off and smooth out that side so a 3" coupler fits right on to the maf housing.

dont use the plastic air filter adapters. They break under boost.

to clarify use the metal ones like coheed said the plastic likes to break

Yeah. Live and learn. Find a metal one, or you can grind off the plastic adapter piece until you can just slide a hose onto the maf housing itself. I've seen a lot of people do that.

I tried blow thru using a 300 ZX MAF and a JWT tune..........Lets just say 5 minutes later it was back to draw thru as the car simply did not like this (would not idle or rev out and felt like the MAF was unplugged the entire time with misfires throughout the ENTIRE rev range).

I have not done my full research as to why this is, but just a bit of a heads up.

Ah, so it was shorting out. Good thing you got it fixed up. Let me know how you like it on blow-thru.
