This specific type of thing is designed so that someone can keep their internal wastegate and avoid having to go with an external wastgate. It gives all of the power gains (and almost all of the other performance gains) of an external wastegate, while maintaining the inexpensive and tight packaging of an internal watsegate. Search Google for "divorced internal wastegate" for more info.

Hey thanks for the clarification. I was just looking at the turbonetics external for sale on the forum thinking it might be a good option for my setup.

I didnt realize they were making a j pipe for the gtir. $300 is a little more than I want to spend but I completely understand the time and fabrication it takes to make something like this. It looks like a very nice piece! Looking forward to seeing someone get some dyno results on how it performs.
