Correction I don't have enough room for Nate's External Gated GTir Manifold. A reguilar one might fit just fine. I already have parts for a tubi manifold, so might as well make it top mount!

i cant run threw 45 pages. vadim, the ve is stock ? have you dynoed the set up if and when you had it running correctly ?

stratton.

VE is not too modified... No dyno numbers yet, I was going to hit the dyno while I was in Florida next week (since their dyno runs seem to be cheaper).

10.3:1 CR (Stock VE pistons)

Intake Runners
Ported to Thermoblok Spacers and casting marks removed
Before

After

Exhaust Runners

Polished and costing marks removed

Thermobloks:

Intake Manifold

Ported and polished the runners

Plenum

Portmatched to the throttle body and Thermobloks

Gspec VE pulleys

3" Downpipe, Cat and Exhaust, then an STI muffler bored out to 3"

Full list of mods found here.

Onto the carnage...

it looks like what happened to our Turbonetics turbo, is there alot of Shaft play there Vadim?

Our Reasons for our damaged turbo mayb

1. BOV (Blitz) Too small causing compressor surge (but with DET Head No Problems on 20 psi + 120 NOS )

2. 23 psi with a VE Head , Log mani and .63 A/R, (Stage 3 Turbine Wheel 57mm). (62mm Compressor Wheel)

Possibly Choking Turbo ?

It is a Precission Billet, I installed the water cooled CHRA, and I'm wondering if I botched the install since it was my first time messing around with the insides of the turbo.

The turbo is seized, I can't even rotate the wheels. I don't think the BOV is too small, I've never heard her surge.

I hit 20 psi for a second when adjusting the MBC last week, maybe that did kill it (I drove it 500 miles after and it seemed just fine and happily boosting).

No shaft play when I last checked the turbo either.

Now that I'm NA for a bit, I wired the Oil PSI gauge directly, and looks like my PSI has increased by about 10-15 psi. Gauge is a lot me responsive to throttle changes.

I guess the turbo line was eating up the pressure before?

I can very much so hear the cams activating, you can slightly feel them, and the revs get slightly faster. But it sounds kind of ricey (especially since the SSAC header is pushing my 3" exhaust against the heat shield). Thus it makes a loud noise from the back of the car too.

Is the turbo going to be replaced under warranty?

Yeah, I'm interested in what they can do for you as well. Especially since I just got one.
