Advice on turbo build
So I am new to the forum and also to the turbo game. I have a 200sx se-r with a sr20det. The motor is stock execpt for the intercooler and blow off valve. The car runs good and pulls nice but I want to see some serious power come out of it. I would like to see the car run in the 11's on the track since a lot of cars that I see are running in the 12's.

So my question is what kind of upgrades and set up will it take to get the car there? I've seen some people ask questions and get smart remarks like "Go search" and would really appriciate any help I can get. Thanks for reading.

Maybe you should search... they're smart remarks for a reason. Everything you need to know is here. Search "gt2871r", you can get into the 11's easily enough with that turbo and upgrades to support it...

think about investing in a good tranny out of a p11 or b15 for drag racing. Make sure motor mounts are in good shap. Bigger turbo and slicks will help your goal.

NISMO and B13T, you're asking the wrong questions. You need to learn how turbocharging works before you can ask the questions you're asking. You're jumping way too far ahead. Ask simpler questions and you'll get answers. You say you're new to the sport? What you've done is rushed into the Bulls locker room circa 1993 knowing absolutely nothing about basketball and asked Jordan/Pippen/etc. to teach you how to win an NBA championship. Pretty pretty please. Because you have to win one tomorrow.

It doesn't work like that.

HAHA ....that is a good one ....

on another note the seach engine is the best tool on the forum , there are so many ways to get the car to make the power to run times like that ....it really just depends on how much weight you can afford to shed ( is it a daily driver ) and how much you want to spend ....( here is relibilty comes in ) do you want the cars drive terrain to last ....get the best transmission you can a B15/P11 or 6sdp p12 ( later costing more $) and a good clutch and motor mounts , this will help in trying to keep get and keep the power to the ground ....along with good suspension .....and now comes power ...since if you read you will know that 400+ whp ( some have made as high as 500whp ) is not out of reason for a stock blocked DE/DET , that being said the saisd lager turbos have more lag and smaller turbos are more responsive ....so ypu have to choose somthing you can live with as far as streetablilty is concerened ...and then we have engine managment , what do you intend to use to tune the car ??

all of these are things you have to decide for your self ....many of us can give you a recipe to allow you to make the power needed to get the get the car into the 11 sec area ...but half the fun of building cars is figuring out what path you want to take ....a gutted smaller turbo terror or a full street weight big turbo power monster ...once you have a idea of a better deffinition of what you are looking to do , I am sure many of us will be able to point you in the right direction ....

to keep it simple ..../
JWT or Calum ECU ( tunned for a z32 MAF and 750cc or 72lb inj.)
a good intercooler
a good clutch ( ACT or Compitition )
a stock pile of trasmissions ( inless you upgrade )
a GT2871r for a stock gtir manifold , or a if you want to buy a nice manifold a GT3076r or GT3071R or possibly a PTE SC5857
and some good cams and possibly springs and retainers

I am sure I missed some thing but here is a good start

Yes, as nissan crazy said, you have to choose your path before asking that questions, since many people prefer different paths...

What you will definetely need is good tires, a 400+whp sentra is going nowhere on the strip if you plan doing street tires...

My times went higher when I switched to a bigger turbo since my car would not get traction until fourth at the strip, any other gear will not allow me to WOT until end of fourth, using 17inch rims...
