UPDATE:Swapping a t25 for a t28 with no other upgrades: turbo is here
well my turbo locked up on me about a week ago and my buddy here has a t28 from a silvia i believe. I know he will prolly give me a killer deal on it that I cant pass on.

So my question is what needs to change in my setup for me to run this turbo?

Currently:
Pump- stock se-r
Injectors- purple 370s
Regulator-stock
MAF- stock
ECU- JWT
Engine- stock 91 de
FMIC
Exhaust- can i use the same j pipe? will it be in the same position?

So can I just swap this t28 over and be ok? Im doubting this, thinking i need more fuel, maf and ecu reflash.

I would personally upgrade the injectors. The fuel pump DEFINITELY needs to be swapped for a walboro 255, which should have been done even with the t25 setup. Although the maf sensor is not a necessity, it would be something that I would upgrade as well. Other than that, get a new tune and you should be good to go.

how much boost?
the stock pump is something that I have always considered high priority even to run a T25 with 7psi, I would definetely upgrade to a walbro 255

It would be nice if you could get a retune, so I would retune to 4bar and try to get rid of the stock SE-R maf

You can keep the 370s if you dont plan on running much boost (but try to at least get the FP to 4 bar)

I am at 7psi now and plan on keeping it there...for now. I have been running the stock pump since October with no problems, and this is a daily driver. I drive very conservative. Never really pushing it unless I'm giving someone a ride.

A retune for 4 bar is expected but i might as well get it tuned for a z32 maf at the same time. No sense in getting multiple retunes.

Eh screw it. I'll go back to na for now. Start collecting parts, then go t28. No sense in trying to half ass crap.

This is what I like to hear. I really dont wanna drive NA even if its for a short time. I had a feeling it would be ok, plus it helps that I dont have a heavy right foot.

So my next concern is fitment. All i know is my buddy said its from a gtir. I havent actually seen the turbo.

So if it is a gtir turbo, is there any other problems I can expect mounting this thing up? I have a avenir manifold btw. Also what about oil feed restriction, same as my set up now?

youll be fine, itll fit no problem.

take my advice: upgrade the fuel pump, go to sti inj (480s or 520's) what ever they are, get a z32 maf, add some s4's, retune, up the boost and make 300whp.

stratton.

Thats what I like to hear. As for uping the boost, and fuel and ecu, it will come shortly after. Im just short on funds right now after just buying wheels and tires.

Ya u will be good. Don't worry about it right now but as soon as u get money upgrade ur fuel system like Stratton said.. pump and FPR together then injectors. 370 are god to about 240whp but thats pushing it.

Just better be safe then sorry, leave stock boost alone till u have supporting mods
