Mazworx iirc. But they pretty much rebuild every few runs. You can even buy their used custom aluminum rods they always replace.

I mean I see no reason why a bored motor wouldnt be a good thing. Taking it to the machine shop and having them do it is nothing. THen just put the motor tog with a head on it of your choice with matched comp forged pistons to keep the comp down.

Sure you can make as much power as you want on a 2l turbo. But a 2.3 or anything bigger will spool faster and just plain be better. Im only trying to rev too like 8. Not the moon like you VE guys.

definitly, bigger bore and stroke would be very ideal, hell even if you were to rev to stock rpm's. spool faster, more low end torque, imo much more ideal over a 2.0l even though you can make great power with stock bore and stroke, its nothing compared to a stroked sr20.

personally i would want to sleeve the block, then do all forged internals, that would be really sweet

do it johnny...sleeves would be a must, but what thickness do the sleeves come in and how much room is there between cylinders? It wouldn't make much of a difference sleeving it if the sleeves were paper thin between cylinders.

I don't think you realize that you'll need to sleeve the block to go over 87 on a turbo motor. And that won't be cheap. If you have mazworx do it its going to be over 1300 just in machining. If you have some oither place do it you always run a risk of sleeves dropping......

Miko has a friend with a 2.2 90x86 turbo set up. Making sick power. 500whp ay low boosy levels check it out. Increasing bore increases flow a lot, and can allow for much better numbers at low bost levels. And just more power period. But then again you could just leave the motor as a 2.2 and just push more boost...

Big bore turbo> all.

The TQ is just sick on a turbo motor. I almost shit my pants taking my 2.2L for a ride.

I am making similar power as my 2L with stock cams and 6psi less boost.

cory i agree, while in theory it seems like a easy job, and it could be depending on how you do it.

but if you really wanted to be legit, your right, the sleeves, boring, honing, decking (head and block) balancing and rotation of the crackshaft assembly, and every other thing that would be a good idea as far as machining goes could run you ALOT of money.

not to mention the piston rod combo thats going to be at least 650.00 alone.

back when i built my b16 block i had damn near 3k doing what would be simular to a 2.2-2.3l det, in the block alone.

theres a saying, do it right or do it twice, and twice is never fun when it comes to engines lol

I'd love to see it done, I'd do it myself if I had the piggybank for it. It'd be nice to see a diy'er build one.

I intend to go to 90mm some day ....I alreaddy have my head gasket and a set of 20v cams I need to order a set of pistons and find a reason to tear the motor out to rebuild it I want to put bigger valves in the head and CNC the combustion chamber to 90mm as well but I am pretty happy with the motor as is, themotor has been going so well we will see what I decide to do with it in the comming years .....

I mean it cant be that expensive to stuff some bigger pistons on the block without sleeving it.

How big can you go before having to sleeve? I think miko had started a thread on this at one point or another.
