62 or E5 ecm questions
I'm adding a T-25 w/370's to my 93 SE-R (5 speed) and was hoping to manage it with a "used" factory 62 or E5 ecm. My intention is to spend the bigger money later on in the second phase of the project, which will then be an upgrade to a JWT ecm with a GT2860RS.
My questions are: will a 62 or E5 ecm work with my B-13?
Do they plug right in to my exsisting harness?
What maf is it actually looking for...I obviously have the stock maf, but have an N60 I can substitute?
Am I correct in assuming the stock turbo setups are blow through?

Those are FWD SR20DET ECUs for COP and are not compatible with the distributor system on a B13 SR20DE, however with the right parts, including TunerCode ECU firmware, you can convert the SR20DE to COP using either of those ECUs.

With a S13 harness, 20V CAS, and some wiring you might be able to make it work.

Stock turbo set-ups are draw through. You will want a DET MAFS to match the ECU unless you get a Calum ecu or one of the other newer cheap/elegant solutions that dfddfd2 knows all about.

You could just run an Avenir or Bluebird DET ECU. That will plug into your harness and work perfectly but I believe they have a rev limiter and a speed governor.

S13 harness, COP coils, and ignitor pack. You can use the B13 distributor/CAS (with rotor removed) if you order TunerCode for that option.

Just in case anyone is confused. S13 coils won't fit in the FWD head. They are too fat. Same goes for S14 coils.

Well, that's what was shooting for, are you saying like a C8 or a PR ecu?
What DET MAF numbers should I be looking for?
I appreciate the guidance, because I don't want to try and tune it myself and I don't want to drop $500 two times for JWT ecu's!
As far as the governors go, I don't need top end, and I don't need more than 7,500 rpm's either, what are the limits?

There is a maf sticky with the part numbers. I don't know what your ecu codes mean. I just say Avenir and Bluebird. This is probably your cheapest easiest route. We are practically giving away det mafs and ecus these days. The timing will be very conservative due to the compression ratio and it will run rich but you can mechanically advance the timing and with a band-aid like an apex-i safc which is like $25 on CL you'll be ice racing in no time.

I think you might even be be able to run GTiR ECU but I don't know man I've never been really interested in any part of that motor other than the turbo setup. Its kind of a pita of a motor imo and the sr20 is already the red-headed stepchild of 90s Nissan motors.

Do you have someone local who will tune the car for you? Or do you have someone willing to "tune by e-mail"?
If not, you will be tuning it yourself regardless. No tunable option I know of comes properly pre-tuned. None of them.

Unless you actually need two ECUs (for two different cars?) then if you wanted to go the JWT route it would be $500 for their ECU with a tune, and then any new tune after that would be $100 to re-flash the ECU (and down time of course). So it would be $600 total, not $1,000.
