what boost you running? can the autronic tune the live by wire easy? that prob half the problem. 2500 sounds too low. can you put the xtrail into 2wd and put on the dyno or is it full time 4x4?

When I used the VET cams I found it best to engage them around 3700-4000rpm for the best overall powerband. Kept good bottom end, but maintained a flatter torque curve without seeing the VVL "bump" on the top end. Pretty flat torque curve with those cams.

Oh true, forgot about that .

Back to language everyone can understand... the bug might be an ECU issue?

I'm running on stock boost 0.6 bar, peaks 0.8 bar.
turbo x-trail has no separate 2wd mode as x-trails with qr20 motors, it has auto 4wd and lock 4wd mode

we think that might be two options: 1- ECU bag, and second - automatic transmission is very weak on x-trail, and has separate computer for it's control, ECU and AT computer connected by LAN, and may be if AT feels that load on it is too high it's creates alarm mode for engine to not increase rpms

Is it only automatic?

And installed Autronik computer to completely manage my motor instead of original ECU (using Autronik fuel maps, O2 sensor not used) as on original ECU I have sporadic problem (and I know for sure that all GT x-trails with SR20VET in Russia, made in Japan till year 2005 still have it)- rpms of motor could not be more that 3800, car accelerates very slowly. Problem could be canceled by switch off / switch on of the ignition.

I had a similar problem with a jdm b15 sunny. Sometimes the transmission would stay in 3rd and the engine would be limited to about 3500 rpm. The transmission would stay in 3rd even when moving off from a dead stop so the acceleration was rubbish. After doing the self diagnosis and having it scanned with a proper scanner it was found that A/T revolution sensor was malfunctioning. After that was fixed the car worked perfect. Other that just reading trouble codes it might help if you can get a scanner that can view the live data that the ECU and TCU sees from its various sensors.

The A/T revolution sensor is one of the 'speed' sensors on the transmission. Newer cars started using ABS to get the speed signal for the speedometer i think so instead of 2 'speed' sensors on the transmission there was only one, the A/T revolution sensor.

would be good to check it if I knew it before, because now to make diagnostic I have to disconnect Autronic

well ifyou want to improve your midrange bump that boost up to 1 bar. stock turbo will hold that easy. Not sure on the intercooler, i assume its a top mount? if so should be fine
