A/F keeps going lean
This just recently started happening.

As soon as I start the engine, everything seems fine at first. After about 5 seconds, my wideband shows the A/F dropping steadily. As it leans out, idle gets erratic, and I eventually have to use the pedal to keep it running. It leans out past 17 to the point the wideband won't register. I can rev it to about 2K rpm and hold it there. While at 2K, rpms are still erratic, but the A/F keeps jumping between 12 and 16. I checked all vac lines, fuel, injectors, maf, tps, piping, and coouplers. It didn't do this before. And nothing has changed with safc2. Any ideas?

This is on my b14 de-t.

do you have any way to check the cts? for consistancy and tempature, the cts can cause rich and lean afrs conditions

Is that something that has to be done through the consult? It has the original sensor. Maybe time to change it?

Night stalker you could have a voltage issue, in that the voltage could be dropping, see if you can get a log of your battery voltage at idle and under load.

Voltage was a steady 14.4 across the board.

What's strange is I changed the neg battery cable, as the clamp was starting to fall apart. Never had ANY grounding issues, but decided to get a pre-made piece instead of putting on a new post clamp.

After changing that, the problem is gone.

A/F is back at around 14.7 idle, and 10-11 under load @ WOT.

Guess I had some sort of ground issue I wasn't aware of.

it does sound like you did have some sort of grounding issue. sometimes its the little things that cause the biggest problems.
