throttle problem helpp video inside winner gets $40
"">im having a problem with the car breaking up its a w10 avenir with t25,b13 maf,89 300zx o2,370cc injectors,b13 chipped ecu(jk tuning), 2 1/2 downpipe/hks catback, walbro 255. so the car brakes up if i rev it quickly sometimes its brakes up when i rev it fast and if i go really slow itll be fine but i still wont be able to drive it cause it'll cut off and try to stall.when the car hits the dead spot theres spark and injector pulse. i checked timing-set to 17 with the tps not connected
new maf-12v,ground,.52v
new tps-this is also a problem its at .45 at closed throttle but at wot theres no resistance(video proof)
cleaned iacv
the engine idles at 1500 rpm which is high
IMG_1202.mp4 video by gmanz89 - Photobucket at the end of the revving vid i held the throttle at the dead spotband the car stalled winner gets $40 paypal'd to themhttp://s809.photobucket.com/albums/zz12/gmanz89/?action=view¤t=IMG_1201.mp4

The TPS should read approximately 2k - 10k ohms. Your meter is on the 20k ohm scale.

Which one should the meter be on?

I don't know how your meter reads, so I don't know what scale to tell you to use. I'm just suggesting that it might be the meter rather than the sensor that has the problem. Check the ECU for codes?

shouldn't you be checking TPS voltage and not resistance? I've never heard of anyone checking resistance in the TPS. Of course there is no resistance at WOT, thats when voltage should be over 4v, right?

There will still be resistance at over 4v, there will always be some. You can check the tps by checking resistance but at closed throttle you speak of .45, that is voltage. You really lost me with your whole first post. Start over from the begining.

Ok so I put the dvm on voltage on the meter there's two options 9v or 1.5v I set it to 9v and checked it I let the car fully warm up put the red lead to the middle wire on the tps and the black lead to the top wire on the tps and the highest voltage reading is 30v at closed throttle and at wot its .99v it's wayy out of spec and I can't clock the tps any further down.

Also when I'm driving if I slowly I mean very slowly give it gas it'll drive but if I give it a little more gas it'll try to stall and I hear a pop. The dvm is new just bought it from Autozone

anyone think a fryed piston ring could do this?

Wow you are looking at the totally wrong scale on the dvom. If you have that tps sensor adjusted downward or upward you just screwed it up. You have to set the dvom to a 20 volt scale which means the highest voltage will be 20 volts and could still read down to 0. Then you ground the black lead on the dvom and the red lead on the wire that sends out 0-5 volts. There you check throttle close and open. I think I have mines set to .47 or .52 volts.
