good numbers for a restricted exhaust. wow i was within 1hp of guessing!

Yeah, rain lol. The good news is that I am on spring break now through next weekend, so I will have time to get this done. Rain will be gone today for the duration of my break. Looking forward to getting it on the dyno.

Originally I was going to be daily driving the car, so I put a 7psi wastegate on it and a boost controller for turning up the boost. However, its no longer a daily. Considering I am running between 16 to 19psi now, should I just throw the 12psi wastegate back on?

I daily mine on 17psi

as long as your tune is good, and not too lean or rich and the offboost portion of the fulmap is not too conservative you can run any ammount of boost daily.

yes, put the 12psi WG back on. i think the rule of thumb is you want the WG 1/2-2/3 of the boost you run.

Thanks guys. I will try and get at least a 12psi wastegate on the car. I cant run the WG that came with the turbo since its the bent rod. The way the turbo is clocked I need the straight rod.

you should go with a external wastegate.

Well it was a toss up between spending money on an intake manifold or an external WG manifold. Ashton gave me a great deal on the IM setup, I didn't feel I could pass it up. Down the road I will go with an EWG. I may just have my gti-r mani modified with one. That way I could mill the flange and bring the turbo up a little to run a full 3" intake at the same time...
