I want to use my gti-r intake manifold on the sr20ve head.

To make 500hp you don't really need it. It may hurt you more than help.

Depends if you are focusing on peak power or whole powerband and response.

That's true.
I had a Pulsar motor in my car for 10 years and the response was good. I put the VVL head on and to be honest it feels better than my pulsar ever felt with the same mods and i still have the stock manifold and throttle body. It's nice to be different sometimes though.
