Man, with all this talk of 500whp+ on pump gas I don't know what to say. I know its a big turbo, but i have yet to see any car around here in the 2.0-2.5L range make anything close to that on pump, but we are stuck with 91oct.

Highest hp I've seen on pump gas was 459whp here, so I know it is possible, but I didn't think it was with JWT tune. I can't push more than 14psi without getting light detonation, and that is right around the 390whp mark. And I'm 8.5:1 compression. I am hoping the bigger turbo helps with this.

Do you have a dyno graph to post yet? I'm making 438lbft of torque at 4800rpm-5500rpm before it drops off rapidly with the SR16 cams. I'm sure the 1.6 cams just need to have a bigger turbo to really shine because torque drops like a rock and I'm not even hitting the turbos capacity on 26psi. This turbo only made ~480whp on 26psi on race gas and a 17* timing base. I didn't play with the timing on the dyno though. I just don't see 500whp being possible.

On another note, i don't see the p11 gearbox lasting for long at that power level. Hopefully the lower tq will prolong the lifespan. I've blown enough of those up to know they can't take more than 380wtq for very long, but somehow you boys in FL keep em together.

There are other cars that are making way more than 4-500hp on pump.

Very possible. My car will be on pump making more than 500 for sure.

With upping the boost, were you just monitoring the timing and A/F ratio and then making changes to only the fuel pressure?? What changes were made while bringing the boost up??

My basic question, how was the "tuning" (for lack of better term) done throughout the session??

You can pm if you prefer.

Thanks much

The only tuning done was common sense tuning. You can not make changes to the JWT ECU.

ECU timming was set a week before we went to the dyno.

First run at 10 PSI, car ran rich. The car made 421 WHP, all numbers were between 10-11 to 1 fuel mixtures. So I checked fuel presure which was 44 PSI and I droped it dow to 38 PSI.

Then we made second run which netted 445 at 10 PSI.

Third run we went up on the boost to 15 PSI

Forth run 19 PSI

Fifth run we wen up to 23 PSI where the clutch slipped.

Very basic common sense tuning. Car can make more WHP with a little more work but untill we do so there is no woulda coulda.

Dam Nick and you are doing big things to that car. I still have the turbo ecu i havent installed. With a set up like this makes me want to step it up abit. Can't wait to see the car in person.

Wayyyy too many threads based on woulda coulda...good to see some people still live in reality.

Thanks very much for your response Dre!! This is EXACTLY what I needed to hear as I as well have a JWT ECU and I am not exactly ready to believe all the hype before I ditch it for something else. Also I know for a fact its running rich (no wideband readings, but just by smell alone from the tail pipe under idle and under boost). The wideband will be installed to confirm my suspicions.

I have several more questions if you have the time to answer

1) What was base timing set at the week before the pull??
2) What were the AF levels for different boost levels you were running??
3) Will the dyno plots (once up) have the A/F vs RPM and boost??
4) What was the fuel pressure for the various runs (the reason why I ask if I am not certain if I understand your statement that you kept the same 38 psi for all the runs)??

Thanks again and fantastic results!!
