I agree. I'd rather have name brand anyways. I've always taken the cheap route and regretted it later.

Either way, 300+whp is not usable on the street in a fwd car, unless you are exceeding the speedlimit on the highway. I hit 65ish in 2nd gear, where is there a highway with a speedlimit over 65?

This is interesting because my turbo spools just as fast as a GTiR t28 setup, and only ~200rpm slower than disco, even at higher altitude. Just saying.

I've had a GTiR T28 powered DET in an old SE sentra I owned. Before it was upgraded to the disco potato it made 290whp maxxing injectors out. It would barely spin 2nd unless really provoked. The disco was another story, it would spin 3rd on 20psi if really cold out. But it did have a pos differential in it. In the Super Sentra, I've never had a regular transmission in it. Only low-mileage P11 transmissions. But I've seen worn LSDs give similar wheel-spinning action. But if the diff and tires are good, you shouldn't have much issue.

I use all 350whp on the street and I love it. Sure, you have to pad your tire budget. But it's so worth it. Just keep the tires pointing straight ahead lol.

t28 in a de is also different from a t28 on a DET. the cams and extra CR does make a difference. also, you being VET does help too, my logged GT3071R DET with S4's does not spool like a GTIR T28.

my tires held up great at 25psi today!

do they make gt2871r turbos that can be externally gated? I dont really wanna buy a 1000 dollar turbo and weld the wastegate flapper shut.

are you going to use the gtir manifold external gated. if you just have the exhaust housing welded in a way that can be undone. like this

Yeah, I'm going to get a gti-r manifold externally gated. Welding it like that wouldn't inhibit performance later on would it? And it wouldn't leak off exhaust?

their is a bracket welded to the swing arm and the housing so the tack welds are just to keep the flapper door centered. I actually sold this turbo and the current owner is using the internal gate.

Awesome. You know where to buy turbine housings on the cheap? How difficult would it be to swap out? And could I sell the one that comes on it?
