Poll: GT2871R or GT3076R
What do you guys think? The 2871 is newly rebuilt and the 3076 is used but a good price. I know you are going to be like "well what are your goals?"... well the answer is I don't know. I am slowly building the car up, and I want a bigger turbo as soon as I break into the 11s on my t28.

Just give me some pros, cons, opinions, experience, ect.

Get the 2971R

Its good for 400-420 WHP at 20 PSI and bolts right where the T28 GTIR turbo used ot be.

Generally this turbo will make 360-370 WHP at 15 PSI with some JWT S4s. That power level is good for 11.6-11.8 at 122-124 MPH.

You will have to get some 740cc Nismo-Tomei injs ( good for 520 WHP ) and I recomend a 300zxTT MAF with JWT pop charger, You will have to get a new pop charger because the standard SR20DE pop charners do not fit the 300ZX MAF

If you do go this route I got one for sale

Thanks for the info Andre! I already have a z32 MAF and z32 JWT POP charger up and running on the car.

I have been thinking about running the 520cc STI injectors at 4 or 4.5 bar since they are so much less expensive, but this is probably a stupid idea and cuts it way too close.

well 555cc injs are 370 WHP at 3 bar and 420 WHP at 4 bar so...................

the 520s will be less so I would not do it. Thats cutting way way way to close.

If it the 3076r that's T2 flanged it will bolt up to the GTIR mani as well. It really depends on who rebuilt the turbo and how many miles are on the other one. Lately I've seen a couple rebuilt turbos failing but that's just my opinion....

FWD get the GT2871R. RWD get the GT3076R but it's got to be the T3 flange.

I know Mike Kojima doesn't like the GT2871R at all because of the mismatched wheels and the inefficiency it brings, however in a practical sense I still think it's a great choice.
