the sti side the wire are the same. what would happen if i hooked the sti ground with the stock 12v wire and the sti 12v to the stock ground?

If you wire them backwards, the injectors won't been harmed I don't think if you test it for a short period of time, they just won't inject any fuel. The pintle will try to move backward instead of forward, and it won't be able to move anywhere, so it won't do anything but heat up.

I honestly have no idea how I decided to do mine, but it worked out the first try. 50/50 chance I guess.
9-volt battery should be able to tell yah which is which like nsusammyeb said.

I don't think it matters how you wire them. I can't remember if I applied any logic to my wiring and they all work fine.

You can wire them either way as long as they are all wired the same. I havent had issues doing that with either my sti's or topfeeds.

Yeah I think I just wired mine in haha I don't think there was any thinking behind it either.
