low oil pressure help
I am now on 2 motors and both of them ran strong but for some reason my gauge is ready low oil pressure. On first start idle im at 30 psi and when i get to crusing im at 60 but when car gets temp. idle is anywhere from 12- 0 psi and at crusing im at 28 30. the gauge im using is a cyberdyne digital. i have a t fitting by the oil switch and the sending unit is connected with a 18 inch -4 steel braided line. Motor now is a ve with a new oil pump

If your gauge tells true then try to see the bearings first and if it is ok go to the pump

I would try a different gauge and sending unit. I would check to make sure the sending unit is not clogged.

thanks guys i read up on the gauge and im suppose to install sending unit into block without any teflon tape, the unit itself needs to be grounded to the block. So in that case im going with a new gauge Oil Pressure Gauge :: Auto Meter :: Cobalt- Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge- 2 1/16 in.- 0 - 100 psi- Incl. 1/8 in. Sender- 8 ft.Wiring Harness :: High Performance Auto Parts

mechanical oil pressure gauge is always the way to go, IMO
