Finally getting wheels are moving to BOOST my classic but have question. I'm using for now my stock DE maf which setup would be better BLOW or DRAW THRU?
A friend of mine did that but using a trooper 3" housing instead on his DE...
The problem with the SE-R maf is that regardless of the housing it will reach its limit fairly easy on a DET, specially in blow thru...

The big factor with the limits of the de maf is the bore size. Thats the limit wirh most maf sensors. Increase the bore and it decreases the velocity. Lower velocity means higher limits. So a larger maf gousing would work even with the stock de maf sensor
? surely there is a limit, but with a different housing i believe it could be possible theoretically. The maf measures airflow in a way that velocity is measured. This is why boring out the stock maf works to increase the limit. It enlarges the housing to slow the velocity of the air going through the sensor element.
Ford uses the same maf for nearly every application, but the only thing that is different is the housing itself. larger housings slow the airflow so that the maf is maxxed out at higher flow rates.
