You will make 410-420 WHP at 20 PSI. The car will runs 11.6 @ 124 MPH with M&H 24.5 x 8.5 x 15 slicks

This setup is one of the best alround turbo setups you will ever run in my opinion.

Make sure you get a P11 00-02 LSD gear box.

Uh oh! So Im starting to think I should've gotten some 740s instead of stis! Whooops!

400whp+ on pump, 30+mpg all day long

1 bar boost? not really, and not on a gt30r unless you got a vvl head. I still don't hit 400whp until about 16-17psi on a very massaged setup. Of course, these are dynojet #s.

I like the rr head, it is designed very well. You don't have to worry about rockers popping off, but the 4cw crank is no bueno unless you don't wanna rev over 7K.

I 2nd the ve head though more care should be taken with the overall setup

400whp will destroy transmissions unless you run heavy shockproof gear oil and a sprung clutch. Its a ticking time bomb, just keep that in mind. Using a smaller turbo on high boost will mean more torque to kill the transmission.

Always get the higher AR housing. I dont know anyone even close to hitting 400whp on the 2871r with the .64 housing. roughly 360whp is the most I see on around 18-24psi. Again, dynojet #s. There are a lot of 2871r options out there though, so that could explain why there are variances in power output. But either way, I've been in disco potato cars running the .64 and the .86 and the latter performed a ton better and hit boost much harder. It was night and day faster.

400whp is really easy with a 60-1, sc61, or any other turbo running the GT35R compressor. That large of turbo will make 400whp easily on 1 bar.

The twin disc? Or the disc with full face on one side and like 8 pucks on the other? That lop-sided disc has issues so I'm glad if they removed that from their offerings.

What's another good option for manifold and downpipe at a reasonable price ?

Another good option for 400 WHP as reasonable as a GTi-R manifold, J-pipe and downpipe?

Nothing.

Or DIY.

we had that on the old forum but people still would ask the same question 20 times a month

.63 will be fine. I did 409hp at 20psi on a S13 with toda cams,740cc injectors,2871bb .63, Greddy intake manifold, stock exhaust manifold with external WG welded on, stock ECU with e-manage. With the JWT you should be even better off.

If you guys had the choice between running a 2860rs or a 2871r what would you choose? I know the potato maxes out at 350whp but will spool faster than the 71r. Also if I go with the potato I can run the subie injectors which would be much cheaper than the 780cc injectors. So the question comes down to - is the extra 50whp worth the cost by upgrading to a larger turbo and injectors, will it make a large difference on the street?
