Well I am just about positive i am going with the 480's @4bar because frankly there's no reason for more fuel...i mean i am running a de+t running a gti-r t28 and s4's And all i want to do is see my 300whp goal, which i definitely should and still be safely in the injectors capabilities I only want to dd at around 250 to keep the motor/ tranny from getting to much uneeded stress and heat. This way it will hopefully last and I can actually enjoy my turbo car for once! So 480's are enough for what I am looking for

Now when she has proven to be reliable then the boost goes up, slicks go on and I look for some low 12's maybe better???? This will only be a few times a year and she should definitely be up to the task!

thanks guys

Second upping fuel presure is not a band add. Upping fuel presure is something that the car manufactures are doing. Most car makers are now running 3.5 bar and 4 bar fuel presure.

Upping fuel presure is no diffrent than running a larger inj. Once the fuel presure is up you program your computer for this.

4 bar is better than 3 bar because of better fuel atomization which allows you to run leaner mixtures and you get better fuel economy.

Thats fine and all but running 370's at 100% duty cycle then upping the fuel pressure to make them flow a higher cc is asking for issues. Buy some larger injectors from another car to prevent your duty cycle from being way to high then up your fuel pressure if you feel the need to.

No one in any other tuning area dsm's, supras, or even in the honda world would do this. They would buy bigger injectors first then fuck with the fuel pressure. Even if you wanted to get brand name injectors like rc's they usually go for around 100-150 for a used set of 750's.

And the nearest junk yard to me is 2 miles away how is it easier to buy clips when most jyards will GIVE them to you for free?

I have had my fair share of 3,4, and even 500 hp cars and even when I was in the dsm game no one would ever think of risking a motor by trying to do something so stupid as upping the fuel pressure for a better atomization or a few cc's more of flow. They would buy bigger injectors. The biggest reason to get a afpr is to prevent fpr overrun due to a larger flowing fuel pump like a wally 255 or even a bosch 044.

I mean why risk detonation on a motor that's already renowned for cooling and detonation issues? It will cost a lot more to fix a blown motor, or pitted pistons than to run a good fuel system.

I'm not trying to bust your balls miko or start a fight. I just think this whole upping your fuel pressure thing for tuning is madness.

I'd get a wideband to keep an eye on afr's bro

ezspoolin, there is no place in this thread I said to use 370cc injs. I clealy stated get S15 480cc injs which are good for 320 WHP at 3 bar which is 20 WHP above his 300 WHP needs and @ 4 bar are good for 370 WHP. At $275 the S15 480cc injs are cheaper than the route you want to go and they drop into the fuel rail, no need to buy a few rail and cut up your harness.

I would re-read the entire thread. I dont think miko ever said anything about running 100% duty cycle on 370's. We just recomended jonwepa to run 480's instead of running the 370's at 90+ % or higher duty cycle. 4 bar fuel pressure isnt a bad thing by any means but if you are close to 90+ % duty cycle at any fuel pressure it could be a bad thing.

I wasnt aware an sr20 was renowned for cooling and detonation issues? Where did you come up with this?

Any non turbo engine with a turbo slapped on could easily have cooling problems or detonation if someone doesnt know what they are doing or how to tune a turbo car.

I would say if you can afford a wideband they are great to have at all times, but not 100% necessary.

It will be tuned very well and a/f numbers will be monitored and spot on.

Ez doesn't understand the concept....

If your seeing 100% duty cycle with 370cc then you add fuel pressure. Now your at about 420cc so you can drop you duty cycle.... so I don't c how in hell this is asking for trouble as you say... it works just fine for the rest of us. Its not like were just tuning the afr w the pressure. We adj the pressure and change the map accordingly. All while getting the benefits of better atomization. Stop harping on mr president miko

That would be ok if s4 cams weren't mixed in there as well. He will never be able to get to the sweet spot of that turbo with S4's and 370's, even @ 4bar. Why limit yourself when an easy upgrade will allow for whatever you what.

Exactly 370s are still not enough

my 370s at 4 bar (427cc) were at 86% on the dyno making 286/245, (t28 at 14psi w/ s4 cams). At LEAST do the 480s or just go to the 555s
