Question for you guys with 3" exaust...

So if youve ever ran an Open downpipe you know that the turbo has this lovely whistle that you can hear when the car is idling and if you touch the gas teh turbo whsitles a bit louder. It sounds supercharged with an aftermarket pulley on it pretty much.

You guys with 3" exaust does your turbo whistle at idle?

Mine doesnt. I have 3" turbo back no resonator or cat to a Magnaflow muffler. Thats the reason i like open downpipe but for that only reason.

Mine is 3" all the way,no res or cat with a GT2871R. No whistle at idle, bad ass at full throttle though...

im running a gt2871r 3'' downpipe to side exit, i get a semi whistle, definitly at wide open throttle and part throttle. i like the pop and flames with the downpipe to side exit!

I had asked the same question some time ago, and TBH I'm liking it more without the "whistle" at idle and part throttle, with the full 3" turbo back VRS. It's less obvious to ricers, so they don't really rev on me as much.

The ricers can rev on me as much as they want. I honestly get kicks out of it

. With my front mount I get guys trying to race me all day anyway. I absolutely LOVE that whistle! Its like crack!

That whistle is rockstar. I wish I could have it at idle... but it's cool, 'cause I have a screamer now. So that works for me at WOT.

same setup with t3 turbo and no, cannot hear the whistle. i noticed that the car sounds like it spools much earlier with an open downpipe but power still comes on at the same time.

Hell yeah! I dont care if your not even in to cars. If somebody pulls up on you and there car is whistling it just makes you smile!

That and the fact that if you hear that whistle that means that your motor is breathing VERY well!
