Thats for the new design though. Im under the impresion that if it has a spring then the spring being compressed more or less makes the BOV open at lower boost settings or stay closed till higher boost settings. With the New Design boost pushes the valve closed so its nearly impossible to leak. But somethings different about the old sprung style. I could be wrong though...

If the old design is anything like the Greddy units and most other units then you're right Johnny.

However for those out there that might get the wrong idea, that's a backwards way of thinking about the adjustment screw in my view. Yes, it adjusts how much boost you can hold, but that's an unwanted side-effect (and why the SSQV and Synapse have the design they do) ideally eliminated from the design. The adjustment screw is really meant to adjust for the amount of vacuum it takes to open the valve to make sure the valve opens on engines with strong vacuum (stock) or with weak vacuum (high overlap cams) so you can avoid surge on a variety of setups.

Yes sir I do believe you are correct Ben. This is why Tial valve spring adjustments are based off of vacuum I would assume .

You can pull the fin out to change the sound, I believe it is in the valve instruction manual on hksusa.com .

Yeah I went to Element and pulled it off his old IC piping and it works beautifully. My old one was the first design that was adjustable, Josh's is one model newr and it isnt adjustable.

I Just got my recirculation fitting from frsport in the mail, I just need to go buy a 1" hose. WooT! No more ricer noises.

Ill have to swing by and get a ride some time. I'm only running like 10-11psi right now and my turbo surges way bad lol. Tial replica FTL. But it does sound kinda cool.

Jeremy, come over anytime bro. I want to know your opinion on my car, see hoe you like it. The turbo hits weird, its almost too smooth.

That is a sign of a well designed turbo. Well matched with your setup that is.

Agreed. The boost response should be VERY linear, so that you almost don't even feel the transition, but notice the increase in power.

I remember Nate's well sort-out B15 with a 2871r, and how smooth it felt. It almost felt as if there wasn't a turbo at all. The power was definitely there, but the delivery had me scratching my head for days.

^^^Thats exactly how mine feels. It starts pulling aroud 3k, but its so smooth that it just feels like an NA power band. Im running an HKS GT2835r, its really similar to a 2871r. Im not bitching, im just used to catching rides in Jasons and jeremys car where it hits boost HARD.
