Best gas??? race gas
I was wondering what the best type of race gas was to buy and add to our cars so that we can gain some octane points , and for a fuel to use at the track ?? leaded and unleaded , the positive and negitives of each ??? I would like to try to order a drum of gas up so I have it on hand ...

here are some of the fuels I have been looking at , I heard that leaded race gas burns out rgular O2 sensors , is that true ??

grab some VP Import and have a blast......122 octane works well.
Personallywhat you should go with is E85 or E98.....Why you ask???? Well Cheaper than any race gas on the market and just as effective..... E98= 122-123 octane, nuff said

That would require a complete redesign of a fuel system to run high percentages of alcohol considering you need more than twice the flow volume.

Which, in my opinion, means you aren't saving any cash, anyway. You're burning thru the fuel at a much higher rate of consumption, so where's the savings?

exactly what i was thinking unless you are increasing the volume of fuel but leaning it out more to burn more efficently...but you are still increasing the fuel over stock volumes which i think is pointless when you can just get c16 and be done..

you can also blend c16 and high octane pump gas to get higher octane ratings. if you didnt wanna go full blown race gas.

however the c16 or any otherr race gas really needs a new map to be tuned on with it also

You honestly think Your better off with C16 or VP import for gas?! Yes I know you need to compensate your fuel system for moving to e85 or e98..... A complete redesign???!!!! Seriously you run some different lines bigger injectors and better pumps!!!!! Yes you need to retune, like you do with any race fuel....You always need to draw up different maps for your tune anytime you are increasing octane. So honestly lets compare price:
Your saying your going to daily drive c16, or even a mixture of c16 with 92?
Lets try and look at the pros and cons,
c16 = $15+ a gallon
e85 = $3+ a gallon
VP Import = $30+ a gallon
e98 = $5-6 a gallon
And my estimates on e85 and e98 are high also!!!!

Run through a tank with c16, lets say 10 gallons and you just spent $150
Run through a tank with e85 or e98 and you can run through 2.5-3 tanks for the same price!!!
Yep, you are saving no money at all.........

^ but I think they mean you'll run through the 2.5-3 tanks in the time it takes for 1 tank of c16.
