Using an alignment tool during disc installation wouldn't have prevented failure. An alignment tool only aids the installer with being able to mount the transmission to the motor without as much fuss. Once the tranny is mounted securely to the motor, it doesn't matter if the disc was off a bit or not because it will seat itself on the input shaft.

Sure you already knew that though, hence the question you posed

x3 I have been runnning and ACT HD pp and 6 puck sprung for 3 yrs now making about 300tq and its rated to about 315tq I believe. No problems at all and I beat this **** out of the clutch. Still grabs like the day I got it.
