p11 tranny rebuild kit
Figured I would start another thread about this but has anyone used a transmission rebuild kit like the one autozone sells, I noticed it comes with the synchros and since my second gear synchro is going I figured at $380 it would be a better solution than a new tranny.

heres the link

why not just find a 1.8 B15 transmission with low mileage. I see them for $250 all the time from yards. They are super easy to find being they came from 00-2006. Same gear ratio as the P11 trans, If you have a b15 trans you will need to use the final drive ring gear from a b13/b14 trans. Other than that its direct swap in. See Coheed's thread on this subject. He has already done it and thats what i plan to do to throw a set together.

Yeah I read that... good thread, so did he just swap the whole stack out of the 1.8 and put it in the p11 or just change the gears. Also can the 1.8 handle 350-380whp and can I use any 00-06 1.8 tranny?

K I read his thread about 5 times and think I have it, you just take the stack out of the 1.8 and put it in your p11, the only thing that has to change is the final drive has to be swapped from the the your p11 to the 1.8 trannys final drive, that right?

no, if the trans is a true p11 trans, all you do is swap the gears. They are the same final drive as the B13/14 p11. You just swap the gearstacks and thats it.

Now if its a B15 trans you will need to take the final drive ring gear from a B13/14 trans and put it on the differential. Unbolt the original B15 final drive ring gear and install the B13/14 one. Then swap the gearstacks in.

This will set the trans up with the p11/ b13/14 final drive.

Simple as that man. Good luck.

It came out cheaper to pick up a QG18 tranny and swap the gear stacks out so thats what I will be doing instead of buying the rebuild kit. I bought another used p11 tranny for the time being to get my car back up but I will be working on swapping my grinding p11 out with the QG18 in my spare time. I will start a another thread once I get it started, the QGs are really cheap.
