1 sr20 torn down 1 to go... im amazed at how simple the motor is but well designed. the motor that has been disassembled was bought from jimithin7000 and had some nice piston damage done and im amazed that the cylinder bores arent even scratched... hell you can still see some crosshatch in a couple of cylinders

I am glad you have left the dark side... I thought that was a decent block as far as I know it was pretty low mileage. Keep me updated on the build man. OT but if you got a cell hit me up so I can keep tabs on ya. I heard there is a meet coming up in Jan?

it is a decent block for sure jim. i made a mistake thou the cylinders have alittle scuffing that i couldnt see lastnight at 1:00 am lol. just at top dead center on the 2 cylinders that the pistons fried in. oh well ill just bore it out to 87 probably cuz i think those 2 cylinders were .20 over pistons if im not mistaken. there is a 2 on top of the pistons and stamped on the deck surface. ill have to pm u my house phone number cuz i dont think i feel like having a cell in the near future lol. now i got to start ripping into the other block now should be fun

need some opinions on boring the block. im thinking that im going to go 87mm on the block. heres the thing thou... the block that i brought down to them had 2 grade 2 pistons and 2 grade 1 pistons in it. 2 of the cylinders are grade 2 and have minor scuffing. anyone think this is going to be a problem? 87mm is also more or less the most that a stock sleeve motor can take correct? thanks for any input.

you do realize that the grades arent all the same in the motor? Its not a suprise you have different ones thats how it comes from the factory. I would just get them honed but if you want to build a motor then have at it. You might want to make it simple for yourself since this is all new.

of course i realize that, this isnt my first rodeo lol. i was going to do forged internals thats why i want to have all 4 cylinders the same bore. just looking for input. the cylinders that have the scuffing wouldnt do from just a hone i dont think thats why i want to go 87 all the way around
