Stock Manifold Turbo Upgrade
Did some searching but need to know ASAP. I am going to be upgrading a turbo on an avenir and I want to know if the GT2871R can bolt straight on to a stock avenir manidolf with no clearance issues or will I have to get a GTiR or VET manifold to make the install easier? I know the avenir had the T25 so the positioning of the turbo is closer so I am thinking a GTiR mani but will the GTiR mani allow for the turbo to clear properly on an avenir block? Crossmember issues should not be a problem as this is an AWD SSS bluebird with no crossmember, stricly dogbone mounts, better known as an Altima (93-97) in the states. Let me know from someone that has actually done it without clearance issues. Thanks.

Jason.

i have a tubular version of the vet manifold on my car with a 2871R. i think the fitment is great. its got about a 1/2 inch of clearence from the block. but also keep in mind that i have the big compressor housing. there is a 2871r that atpturbo.com sells that has a gt-r front housing. so that being said i think with the small housing a gti-r manifold will work.

also if you end up with a vet manifold... the turbo will be too close to the radiator to use stock fans. you will have to use pushers on the outside of the radiator. the gti-r manifold will allow you to run stock fans.

Thanks Lance, will check the Compressor size and see if it can work. Suppose to be getting a mani today to check the fitment.
